What is radio surgery mole removal technology?

This is Selston Cosmetic clinic's preferred method of mole removal. We use state of the art technology that produces radio waves which instantly vaporises the moles, resulting in much less scarring. Our videos demonstrate this process eloquently.

Moles - general Information

• They can appear anywhere on the skin especially on the face, arms and neck.
• Generally brown moles which are evenly pigmented; with a regular out line, do not need to cause any concern.
• Common moles on the face are usually lightly pigmented, often have a few hairs arising from them and are usually benign and should cause no worry!

Mole Removal Consultation

• A clinical history will be taken by our experienced cosmetic physician Dr. Bassi.
• The lesion will be examined and if required the mole will be analyzed using a state of the art skin scanner system.
• The method of mole removal will be recommended and discussed.
• If clinically it is deemed necessary, the mole can be excised and sent for histology:

Overview of Mole Removal methods

• Radio Frequency Mole Removal: As outlined above, but preferred method of choice.
• Laser Mole Removal: Our state of the art laser system can also remove simple compound naevi (birthmark/mole) on the face; giving excellent cosmetic results with negligible scarring or marks.
• Electro Cautery: A popular method used, by many clinics, it is a simple, inexpensive procedure, however there is a tendency to have minimal scarring post treatment. The wound usually develops a scab which falls off 7-10 days later and the area will be pink and this will fade with time.
• Cryotherapy Mole Removal (freezing): Liquid nitrogen treatment has always been used to remove moles. The liquid nitrogen kills cell tissue and eventually eliminates the mole. The procedure may be painful and you might need a few treatments. In our experience this is not very effective.
• Chemical mole removal: Selston Cosmetic Clinic does not use this method and does not recommend it:

Post Treatment Advice

• We always recommend the use of SP30 sunblock:
• Sometimes the surface of the treated skin maybe slightly raised or slightly lower than the surrounding area... This blends in with time.
• Very occasionally pigmented moles can also repigment after treatment.
