What is skin pigmentation ?
This can be areas of tanned skin or brown and black areas of discolouration on the skin. In these areas, the body has collected more pigment, creating age spots, also known as brown spots, freckles, liver spots or sun spots.
What causes skin pigmentation ?
♦ It may be congenital.
♦ Can be acquired by over exposure to the sun.
How long are the laser treatment sessions ?
Treatment sessions can take about 5 to 30 minutes depending on size of the treatment area.
How many laser treatments do i need for skin pigmentation (Age spots, brown spots, sun spots, liver spots, freckles.) ?
In our experience a single treatment session is needed to achieve the desired result. Occasionally two treatments may be needed.
Is the laser treatment painful ?
■ Most clients experience minimal discomfort; some may experience a minor stinging sensation on the skin as the Laser pulses are delivered.
■ We can offer topical anaesthetic cream to make treatments more comfortable.
■ Our advanced laser system is equipped with a cooled sapphire window on the tip of the laser scope to further protect and cool the skin.
What shall I expect following laser treatment for skin pigmentation ?
The treated areas become darker after treatment and subsequently flake off after a few days.
