♦ Low-level lasers are soft or cold lasers and do not have a thermal component to cut or burn tissue. Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is based on the scientific principle of photo bio-therapy, which occurs when laser light is absorbed by cells.
♦ LLLT was first used to treat ulcers in diabetics with poor blood supply. The lasers improved blood flow and an astonishing side effect was noticed, where the laser beam focused, body hair grew thicker and longer than the surrounding hair.

■ Low propylene glycol (LPG)- low levels of this help minoxidil to absorb better into the scalp, OTC preparations have high levels of LPG.
■ Penetration enhancers- helps the minoxidil to penetrate deeper into the hair follicles not present in the OTC preparations.
■ Natural moisturizing factor
■ Natural anti-inflammatory factor – reduces any irritation on the scalp, which can occur with minoxidil, this is not present in the OTC preparations.
