What is Botox?
Botox, Dysport and Vistabel are commercial trade names for Botulinum Toxin Type A. This is derived from the bacterium Colostridium Botulinum.
How do Botox Injections work?
When injected into muscles, Botox toxin has a local effect, it blocks nerve transmission to temporarily reduce the contraction of the facial muscles that cause wrinkles and frown lines.

It starts to work in 5 days with the greatest effect seen around 2 weeks.
How long will the results of Botox Treatments last?
On average around 4 months, with repeated treatments, longer lasting results are obtained (6-10 months).
With hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating of the armpits), resolution of symptoms can last between 10-12 months.
Best Aesthetic Practice for Administration of Botox Injections
Botox should be administered by a trained medical practitioner. At the consultation with Dr Bassi at our Botox Cosmetic Clinic, your requirements and expectations are discussed. A medical history and examination is taken prior to the administration of Botox. All clients have pre-treatment photographs and a 2 week follow up review for assessment and free top up of Botox if required. At review, post treatment photographs are also taken.

Botox Side effects?
These occur very occasionally and are temporary, as the effect of the Botox wears off, and are:

♦ Temporary drooping of the eyelid,
which can be easily reversed with special medical eye drops.
